In General:

Riverview Holiday Park has a local Council Licence for just over 3 dozen holiday lodges, chalets and caravans here. Presently, in 2018, there are an assortment of around 20 private lodges and chalets. Plots available for new holiday homes are being sold off each year by the Proprietor/Owner and their Management on site.
The sale of pre-owned or second hand Lodges and Chalets is dealt with by individual owners and buyers privately. However, final sale and monetary exchange is administered by the Management on the park. Also, as the new buyer, you are obliged to meet the Proprietor and/or Management and discuss Park regulations and view the Contract and Agreement, which you must sign separately.

When you purchase a Holiday Home here, whether it be new or pre-owned, you purchase the property only, not the ground it sits on. As is usual with private UK Holiday Parks, you then pay an Annual Maintenance/Services Site fee which, at present, is £1,700 at Riverview (paid twice a year - £850 per instalment). This includes private water, sewerage and VAT. These Site Fees are due on 1st January and 1st July each year. You also pay for your electricity and gas, which is metered, on a quarterly basis. Any TV and telephone/WIFI service is paid separately by yourself direct to your provider. All Holiday Homes must by insured by owners, and the Park Proprietor must be provided with a copy of your insurance certificate on request.

Advantages of buying a Pre-Owned or Second Hand Lodge or Chalet:

a) Pay less than the standard new price and have sight of previous fuel and insurance bills paid.
b) Lodge free of early teething and snagging troubles.
c) Just walk in straight away and everything is up and running after a thorough clean up by us.
d) You are free to choose your own optional furniture and decor rather than buy into standard design with a new Lodge.

On Owning Your Own Holiday Home:

1) Who is best suited to buying a Holiday Home here? Mature people, who may be semi-retired or retired, and are looking for occasional peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of life in the city. Their family and friends are also welcome to visit and the Park and village nearby is particularly advantageous for active people.

2) Can I sub-let my Holiday Home? Riverview does not allow commercial sub-letting of Homes, although your family and friends are welcome to stay in your Home for holidays, and, children and pets are welcome.

3) How long can my Holiday Home stay at Riverview? The Proprietors offer owners of new timber framed or wooden Lodges an agreement for 50 years. Our Lodge is 11 years old in 2018 and therefore has about 40 years left. If the property is kept in good order with regular maintenance by the owners, this agreement can be extended with the Proprietors.

Membership of British Holiday and Home Parks Association:

Riverview Holiday Park is privately owned by a family who live nearby and the Park is licenced by Scottish Borders Council. It is open for 12 months of the year and you only have to leave the property vacant for two weeks in any one year. It is not a Residential Park.
The Park is regulated by the standard BHHPA Licence Agreement, a copy of which the Management can provide. The Code of Practic for Selling and Siting Holiday Caravans is strictly adhered to to protect property owners here and the Proprietor/Owner.

David Bellamy Conservation Awards:

Riverview Holiday Park is proud to be associated with the above Awards scheme. They were presented with a Gold Award in 2011 for their continuing commitment to conservation and the environment in the Park and local area. A natural newly planted woodlands walk has been made in the lower end of the Park for visitors enjoyment including dog walking and bird watching . There is also an area for playing outdoor boules.
